ABOUT ROGANO
In 1935, as the great Cunard liner 'Queen Mary' took shape on the Clyde, a restaurant was refitted in the same elegant Art Deco style - and a Glasgow legend was born. With its unique 1930s ambience, Rogano is the oldest surviving restaurant in Glasgow and for almost seventy years its chefs have dedicated themselves to the delicate art of cooking and serving the finest fish and seafood from Scottish waters. Lunch at Rogano is an institution but for all its traditions and style, Rogano is a friendly place with a loyal clientele and a special welcome for travellers. In the early evening the city suits disperse and the elegant and fashionable assemble in the bar. Some for an aperitif before being ushered through to the Restaurant. Others gathering for a drink and perhaps a dozen oysters at the bar. Cafe Rogano clients sipping a pre dinner drink before going downstairs for a meal as a prelude to an evening out. |
